Pattern knit to fit Jamie

Needles: DPNs size 0

Gauge: Err... basically none.

 

Cast on 50 stitches using the Figure Eight cast on (http://www.purlwise.com/cast_on/).

Knit one round

Increase at each end of the needles every other row with M1R and L to 74 stitches (37 per needle)

Knit 4 rounds

Switch to 4 dpns: needles 1 and 2 are top of foot

Begin pattern:

          Round 1: (top) k2 p2 across; (sole) knit

          Round 2: repeat

          Round 3: (top) p1 *k2 p2, rep from *; (sole) knit

          Round 4: repeat

          Round 5: (top) p2 k2 across; (sole) knit

          Round 6: repeat

          Round 7: (top) k1 *p2 k2, rep from *; (sole) knit

          Round 8: repeat

Knit pattern for 16 cm or until sock reaches beginning of curve of ankle on top (where your leg meets your foot).

Begin increasing on knit sole (M1 R and L) every other row to 41 sts; continue diagonal rib on top of foot with no increase

 

Turn Heel: short row heel (http://www.thedietdiary.com/blog/lucia/554)

Knit across sole to last 4 sts: slip 2 purl wise, bring yarn to front, turn work, slip 1 purlwise, yarn to front.

Purl across to last 4 sts: slip 2 purlwise, yarn to back, turn work, slip 1 purlwise, yarn to back.

Knit across to one less than previous knit row, slip 2 purlwise, yarn to front, turn, slip 1 purlwise, yarn to front.

Purl across to one less than previous purled row, slip 2 purlwise, yarn to back, turn, slip 1 purlwise, yarn to back.

 

Continue to 18 or 17 purled sts.

 

Knit across to one more than previous knit row, slip 2, yf, turn, slip 1, yb.

Purl across to one more than previous purled row, slip 2, yb, turn, slip 1, yb.

 

Continue to 3 sts left after PURLED row and before SLIPPED stiches.  Slip 2, yb, turn, slip 1, yb, knit to end of row, continue with ankle.

 

Ankle: continue pattern on top and knit on back for two reps of diagonal rib pattern


<>Leg: begin k2p2 rib all around on start of k2 pattern side

Rib until you get bored (~3 inches for ankle sock)
